SanDeshkali: one of the other two sanaDeshkaris. A woman in this remote district of Bengal’s North 24 Parganas, whose complaint about rape by a Trinamool worker had led to riots, on Wednesday made a U-turn stating she was never subjected to any kind of assault and that it was the local BJP Member who took her signature on blank paper and pushed her into police station.
The woman also submitted a fresh complaint at SanDeshkAli police station claiming that her life was in danger because she withdrew her earlier false complaint for rape.
She alleged that members of the PPP Mahila Morcha and some other party affiliates came to her house and asked her to put fake allegations in writing.
“They asked me to sign on the pretext of registering my name in PMAY. Later, they took me with them on a visit to the police station where I was sexually assaulted. Inside Trinamool office there never occurred any sexual assault on me. It was never ordered that I should go at night to party office,” she argues.
Having come forward, she said herself and all family members have been socially shunned by local BJP top brass “We are feeling insecure; hence I sought help from police”
The complainant is the wife of Trinamool booth president according to Mahila Morcha member
“Nobody forced her to lodge complaint. For instance Rekha Sharma listened as she along with other women narrated their ordeals before National Commission for Women. Once CCTV footage from inside the police station is leaked out everything will become clear. The husband-wife duo has also been accused of misusing money meant for Amphan and Bulbul cyclone relief fund.”
This development comes three days after Gangadhar Koyal , Sandhakari ward 2 BJP president said there were no cases of rape or sexual harassment in Nandigram as alleged by the women. The complaint had been filed at the insistence of Nandigram MLA Suvendu Adhikari.
In response, TMC Minister Shashi Panja said “And after BJP’s Sandeshkhali affair conspiracy were unmasked in a video on saturday, these victims bravely tried to withdraw their wrong complaints. However, the accused who seem to have been working with BJP threatened to harm these people and even went further as extorting money out of them.”
