NEW DELHI: Talented wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler bid adieu to the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as he gears up to join the England squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Ahead of the mega tournament, England are also scheduled to face Pakistan in the four-match T20I series, starting May 22 and Buttler will be leading the Three Lions against the Green Shirts.
With England aiming to retain their title in the prestigious tournament, Buttler’s leadership as captain will be pivotal to their campaign. His ability to lead by example and inspire the team will play a crucial role in England’s quest for success on the global stage.
In the IPL 2024 season, Buttler has showcased his exceptional form, accumulating a remarkable tally of 359 runs in just 11 matches, including two centuries.
Rajasthan Royals bid an emotional farewell to their star player Buttler through a heartfelt video shared on their social media platforms.
“We’ll miss you, Jos bhai!,” Rajasthan Royals wrote on their social media handle while posting the video.
“Facetime me with the trophy. Yeah?” Buttler said in the video while boarding a taxi.

Rajasthan Royals, after losing their match to defending champions Chennai Super Kings on Sunday, remain second in the 10-team table led by Kolkata Knight Riders, who are the only team to have already qualified for the playoffs.
Rajasthan Royals last won an IPL title in 2008 under the legendary Shane Warne‘s captaincy.
The top four teams will make the play-offs with the final on May 26 in Chennai.
