The test included technical evaluation as well as takeoff and landing operations on the airport runway.
The data collected during the exercise will be reviewed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for further evaluation.
After approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, the airport authority will apply for an airport license, which is a mandatory step before starting full operations.
Verification flights, also known as certification flights, are a key part of the certification process. These inspections are conducted to verify that the airport complies with safety, operational and regulatory standards.
These flights simulate real-world operations and assess whether the airport’s infrastructure, procedures and systems comply with DGCA guidelines.
According to the schedule, verification testing is scheduled between November 30 and December 15.
In October, the airport completed a major milestone through the calibration of its Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Precision Approach Indicator (PAPI) systems.
Officials confirmed that 85% of the first phase of the project has been completed, the 3.9-kilometer runway has been fully put into use, and the terminal is approaching the final stage of construction.
