Varanasi: Varanasi Municipal Corporation Issue a deduction warning to relevant responsible companies Collecting garbage door to door due to poor performance.
Expressing strong displeasure over the failure to improve despite repeated warnings and continued non-compliance, the municipal commissioner issued a warning demanding about Rs 5 crore be deducted from the company’s payments.
Municipal Commissioner Akshat Verma has issued a warning to Varanasi Waste Solutions, the company selected by the Varanasi Municipal Corporation for door-to-door waste collection, for failing to meet the standards. Verma said, Varanasi Waste Solutions Responsible for the collection and classification of daily household waste in Varanasi and collecting user fees from owners.
Over the past year, the company has not achieved 100% collection of user fees and has been warned multiple times.
Meanwhile, in a major move to identify government land in newly expanded areas, the Varanasi Municipal Corporation on Saturday marked and took possession of a total of 32 government land in Bihas across the city.
As part of the operation, 16 bighas of land in Mirapur Basahi area of Lalpur were marked and occupied by installing pillars.
Additionally, 13 government lands in Dhanilpur were marked and confiscated with poles. Subsequently, 3 plots of land in Bikaripur were taken over. A total of 32 large parcels of land were marked and seized today.
The ongoing operation by the Municipal Corporation has so far acquired 135 Bihas of land.
