Urban Sketchers organize International Urban Sketching Week from May 1st to 7th, where artists across the world participate by sharing their art through hashtag #uskweek2024 sketch story.Including members of Delhi NCR chapter who grabbed their sketchbooks Art Supplies are given for a weeklong celebration of live arts. The idea is to have arts and community events there in the neighborhood that will show how urban sketching happens differently than any other thing, bringing people together and improving their lifestyles.

On their website, the organization suggests over a hundred prompts, and everyday Delhi chapter picks three prompts regarding different topics. Some artists are given words like drawing your work station, heritage site within greenery, favorite coffee shops that is flora and fauna in a local park and view from your window.

An event at a Delhi cafe called ‘drinks and raffle’
The sketchers met at the city café on day four for a “drink and draw” activity and even swapped unfinished paintings with other artists.Day 5, Watercolor Painter Amit KapoorVice-President of the International Watercolor Society and President of the Indian Chapter, visited Lodi Gardens with about 50 artists. The artists found time to do a painted outdoors while also involved in an outdoor water color demonstration class conducted by Amit Kapoor.
On Sunday, 30th of December 2018, artist Amit Kapoor will be conducting an outdoor watercolor painting demonstration at Lodhi Garden. According to Niraj Gupta, the founder of Delhi’s Urban Sketchers (USk) chapter in 2017, “We have such talented artists with some of them working USk Delhi for seven years now but we still have a lot of young people come because we are still attracting many beginners and amateurs who want to get better and better.” This is part of Sketch Week that encourages art lovers to spend time making art. The group meets every Sunday at different locations in delhi. We learn from each other while doing art ‘riyaz’ regularly”.
On day 6, you will be expected to draw various things, such as a favorite dish, your favorite store’s front and the trees within your reach.
