Two youths arrested in Coimbatore for assaulting hotel manager over unpaid bar bill
Two young men from Krishnagiri district went to Coimbatore for recruitment. They booked a room at a hotel in Piramedu and drank at the hotel bar.

Coimbatore: Piramedu police Coimbatore city has arrested two young men who came to Coimbatore to join the Indian Army recruitment after they got into a fight with the manager of a private hotel.
The youths consumed liquor worth Rs 5,798 at a private bar attached to the hotel and their UPI payment was not credited to the bar’s bank account. When the manager asked, the young men beat him with their hands and pushed him down.
The arrested youths are G Baskar, 19, and D Bharath, 20, both from Burgur in Krishnagiri district. N Prakash, 41, of AKG Nagar in Upplilipalayam, Coimbatore, was working as a manager at a private hotel and guest house in Peelamedu for the past five years.
He lodged a complaint with the Piramedu police on Thursday evening and said the two youths visited the hotel on Wednesday and told Prakash that they had come to Coimbatore from Krishnagiri district to participate in the army recruitment Activity. They booked the room and paid Rs 3,500 in advance.
At around 3 pm, the two went to the hotel bar and drank 5,798 rupees. They showed the bar manager Silambarasan a screenshot of the UPI payment. The two told the bar manager that the money was sent to the bar’s account through their friend’s UPI payment.
Afterwards, the two young men returned to their rooms. However, the bar management did not receive the amount of Rs 5,798. Manager Prakash walked into the room and saw two young men. He told them the money had not yet been deposited into their pub account and asked them to pay.
