Rachin Ravindra participates in his first ever Indian Premier League season for the champions of five times Chennai Super Kings, while sharing the dressing room with the epic Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
In his first season with CSK, Ravindra scored 222 runs from 10 matches, having a highest score of 61 at a strike rate of 160.87.
Even though CSK failed to reach the playoffs as defending champions this year, playing in IPL was an experience Rachin will never forget.
Ravindra is caught up in a viral video talking about sharing a team with MS Dhoni and his IPL experience.
‘Yeah it’s pretty special feeling. I think he’s achieved so much to be able to share a field with him not just on the field but also off it where really valuable wisdoms.’ Ravindra said.
The Indian parents moved to New Zealand from Bangalore in 1990s, and they named their child Rachin after the Indian cricketing legends Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar.
On being informed that ‘Is Rachin Ravindra an Indian’ is the most Googled question about him, Ravindra replied: “Honestly, I didn’t know that. Funny enough, I don’t really Google myself too often. But yeah I suppose like I’m Indian heritage but I guess proudly sort of identify myself as a Kiwi born and brought up there, but always loved coming to India its people and food everything is amazing.”
Next month Ravi ndra will represent New Zealand at T20 World Cup tournament.
