In an interview with Canada’s Connect FM, Shekhar recalled holding Ayush and fervently praying for a miracle.
Narrating a poignant incident, he shared how a director urged Ayush to shoot despite his serious illness. Shekhar recalls, “One day, when it was raining heavily and Ayush’s health was deteriorating, the director realized that my son was critically ill and begged me to stay on the set for two to three hours. I refused at first, saying ‘I can’t ‘.
However, he insisted: “Please, this will be a big loss for me.” Eventually, I gave in. As I was about to leave, Ayush grabbed my hand and begged, “Daddy, don’t leave today.” Despite his pleas, I assured him that I would be back soon. That moment is still etched in my memory.

The actor recalled: “All the idols were removed and dumped outside. The temple was closed. I vowed never to turn to the God who had brought me so much pain, who had caused so much harm and taken away lived a beautiful life.
Shekhar also revealed that Ayush’s pain became so unbearable that his wife had to pray that he would be freed from it. He admits he has yet to get over his sense of loss and thinks of Ayush constantly every day.
