Garo Advani may be a great actress, but singing is not her forte. During the finale of Indian Idol, Kiara sang Shershaah’s song Raataan Lambiyan. Needless to say, while Kiara enjoyed singing the song, it wasn’t up to par, and while that’s okay, she was later attacked for it.
Later, Kiara recalled this special moment at a meeting for her 10th anniversary in the industry, and the whole incident left her with almost no trace of anger. Fans were quick to come to her defense, assuring her that things weren’t that bad. Of course, she couldn’t help but smile and thank them, true fans, for continuing to support her.
However, what really stood out from this moment was Kiara’s husband Sidharth Malhotra’s reaction to the entire performance.
He made sure to give her nothing but love and support and said to Kiara, “You have the courage. Grand Finale mai tumne koshish kiya” (You have the courage to try the finale). His words of appreciation also helped Kiara forget about the experience of being trolled on the Internet and cherish the experience with a smile.
What Kiara learned from this experience wasn’t perfection, but the courage to sing from the heart, especially given the stage she was on. Even though her rendition of Raataan Lambiyan made it to the internet for all the wrong reasons, the love and support from Sidharth and the fans at large really shined through, reminding us that the hard work and heart behind the performance is what really matters.
This flashback moment shows that sometimes the journey is more important than the hits, especially when you have a great partner to back you up. Of course, Kiara fans show that the best support comes from people who love you no matter what!
Sidharth cheered Kiara on during her Shershaah live performance, and in fact, it was a very heartwarming reminder of how strong their relationship is — strong enough to prove that, no matter what the ups and downs, this love story really is Stories in books.
