Prominent figures from across the political spectrum, including the Prime Minister Modi, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singhand Lopp Rahul Gandhi Expressing sadness at the loss of one of India’s most respected business leaders.

96-year-old LK Advani has sent a heartfelt condolence, mourning the death of a “giant of Indian industry”. He praised Tata for his leadership and his lasting impact on the Tata Group and the Indian business. “Among Indian companies, Tata is the company I admire most,” Advani wrote.
He also recalled his last interaction with Tata earlier this year, when Tata congratulated him on receiving the Bharat Ratna. Advani described the late industrialist’s “warmth, generosity and kindness” as always being “very endearing”.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat also expressed his condolences, saying Tata’s death was “a huge sadness for all Bhatiyas”. In a post on X, Bhagwat praised Tata’s contribution to India’s development, highlighting his leadership in industry and his commitment to national unity, security and social welfare. He praised Tata for his humility and simplicity, saying these qualities made him a role model.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences in a tweet, calling Tata a “visionary business leader” and an “extraordinary human being”. The Prime Minister also praised Tata for his steady leadership of one of India’s most prestigious business houses and mentioned that his contributions extend far beyond business. “His humility, kindness and unwavering commitment to making our society a better place endeared him to many,” the prime minister wrote.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Tata and remembered him as a revered global industrialist who transformed the Tata Group at a crucial time. Shah acknowledged Tata’s significant contributions, particularly in areas such as education and cancer treatment, and said his legacy will continue to inspire professionals in the industry. Shah will represent the government at Tata’s last rites at the lawns of the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh pays tribute to Ratan Tata in letter to Tata Group chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran. Recalling Tata’s courage and integrity, Singh wrote: “He had the courage to speak truth to power. I have fond memories of working closely with him on many occasions.”

Congressional leaders also expressed condolences over the loss. LoP Rahul Gandhi, in an article published on X, described Tata as “a visionary” whose legacy in business and philanthropy will live on forever.
Congress president Mallikarjun Haq said India had lost “an priceless son” with Tata’s death, who was known for his commitment to inclusive growth and moral leadership.
