This track and field contests commences today from Paris. A number of fresh games and recent instructions have been included. It makes some major, exciting changes:
Mixed Relay Walk Marathon: For the first time this event will replace the men’s 50-kilometer walk. Men and women in a team of two will take part in an individual marathon that has four stages. In the second and fourth rounds, female athletes will participate. In athletics track and field there were many things being done for the first time.
Semi-final round: Easter match, for olympic games Track meets return in 1924 Paris Olympics It also means that if an athlete is eliminated before final qualifying for his/her respective discipline (from 200m to 1500m inclusive), they still have one more opportunity to make it into semis plus finals through semi-finals only. This change enabled them to compete again with others in order to qualify for semis. Therefore, athletes would be taking part in two matches at least during this competition as there would be heats plus repechage prior to semi-finals coupled with final stages.
Yellow and red cards: Yellow cards can be shown by referees to caution players against breaking established rules regulations. A player is expelled from a game by a red carding. When he sees a yellow card issued, he displays a second yellow card after which a red card follows immediately if it is shown again. These signs are displayed by protestors who hold up red boards with white.
Popular seats: There will also be hot spots for those athletes not progressing through to the next round . If two or four of them qualify they get another chance at advancing if they can move out of their elimination stage positions respectively; thus avoiding vacant lanes when semi- finals then finally come around. Thus, no semi-finals or even finals had empty lanes.
