The Supreme Court today expressed dissatisfaction with the way in which the Uttarakhand Government managed the fire that engulfed its forests, describing it as “lackadaisical.”
“Although a plan of action had been drawn up and finalized, no steps were taken to put it into effect,” said the Supreme Court.
It was also pointed out by the Supreme Court that there was an enormous vacancy in the forest department of Uttarakhand, something that required attention.
On May 17th, this year, chief secretary of Uttarakhand will be summoned before court too.
