New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team leader Fife du Plessis Underlined importance of confidence after their impressive win delhi capitals (DC) in intense pulsed light Bangalore game.
Rajat Patidar’s attacking fifty and inspired bowling helped RCB register their fifth consecutive win with a 47-run win over DC on Sunday, boosting their hopes of reaching the IPL play-offs.
Following Cameron Green’s unbeaten knock of 32 off 24 balls, Bengaluru posted a win of 187-9.
Du Plessis praised the team’s performance, highlighting their strength and unity. A delighted RCB skipper spoke of how the team found its magic in the second half of the tournament to win five games in a row.
“It’s great, we put in a great performance. That’s confidence. The first half of the season, we were just fighting for it. The first five or six games, we couldn’t get wickets and now there’s been about three games where we’ve bowled them. People talk about the game but you’re just batting left-handed and you hope things go well for Swapnil and I feel like a lot of work goes on behind the scenes,” Du Plessis said in his post-match speech.
RCB bowled their opponents out regularly and the skipper attributed this to the different types of bowlers he has in his armoury.
I feel as a captain, there are a lot of variations in bowling, six or seven options, you assess the conditions and see what you can do. Ash is an exception. Locke is excellent. Both (batting and bowling) need to have adequate cracks. We wanted to be bold. Even today we played forward and bounced, we had over 60 power plays and everyone was pushing,” Du Plessis added.
