We are partners in your life and fitness journey: Srija& Arjun
The festival is over and it’s time to get rid of the extra calories gained from overeating during Pujo and Diwali. If you want to know how to get back on track, please refer to X=Prem actor Arjun Chakraborty Sharing fitness tips with his wife Sreeja and having fun fitness dates with CT.
After weeks of festivities, how do you plan to return? healthy lifestyle?
Arjun Chakraborty: Like everyone else, we add those extra calories that last all year long. I also work out during Puyo holidays, except for one day. Now it’s time to get back on track as I’m a firm believer in an active lifestyle and controlling food intake.
Srija Chakrabarty: I am a true Bengali at heart and I cannot resist festive treats but now is the time to show some restraint. (laugh) Portion control, prioritizing protein intake, hydration, and optimal rest are my current fitness mantras.
Did you two have an argument in the gym?
AC: Yes, this has happened! They say exercise releases happy hormones, and maybe that’s what prompted me to apologize and give her a sweaty bear hug to end the argument. (laugh)
SC: I’m rarely the one to apologize, but yes, Arjun is at his happiest when he’s in the gym. When we would argue, he would hang around us and try to apologize in his own way.
Tell us about your courtship days. Were you still playing sports together at that time?
AC: Not as much as in the later stages of our courtship. However, some days I would pick her up from the gym and take her to a coffee shop for a breakfast date.
SC: I really miss those breakfast days! Now, the most important thing is to have a super healthy, nutritious breakfast at home. Still, I found our early morning and late night walks very romantic!
Sreeja, how do you deal with rumors and gossip columns about Arjun?
SC: I don’t ‘deal’ with them. These are all rumors, so I have nothing to worry about.
AC: I find them completely irritating and unfounded.
Be each other’s fitness inspiration
AC: Sreeja has been a regular at the gym since college, but towards the end of my college life, I started taking it seriously. She has always been my fitness inspiration and now it has snowballed into my obsession. My mental health depends on whether I go to the gym that morning, which is one of my biggest hobbies besides reading.
SC: I thought he loved me the most! (laugh). Arjun gives me a sense of peace and happiness and I believe that a happy mind itself is a motivation to push yourself to be the best version of yourself. If he sees me dieting too much, he’ll go after me and constantly remind me to eat protein and drink water.
I know a lot of people who are passionate about fitness, but their partners are not. But I don’t think I would have been able to pursue my obsession without Sreeja. Now, our daughter also enjoys gymnastics and ballet. ——Arjun Chakrabarti
Participate in any type of physical activity while burning off holiday calories. Prioritize self-love and self-care. Eat an early and light dinner. If you feel hungry later, have green tea and a snack during your date——Srija Chakrabarty
our daughter Avantika A reflection of our food choices, but also a reflection of our active lifestyles. We encourage her to play in the park and limit her screen time——Arjun Chakrabarty
I’m not a picky eater, but my food must contain protein to help me recover from exercise. I am not very strict about my diet. Sometimes I like to eat ice cream and mishti——Arjun Chakrabarty
“Arjun takes care of our daughter Avantika and my diet,” Sreeja and Arjun are convinced of the taste and nutritional value of home-cooked meals.
