Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal said on Friday that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had challenged her husband’s bail order even before it was uploaded on the website of the trial court.

Earlier today, the Delhi High Court stayed the trial court order granting bail to the chief minister until hearing the education ministry’s plea challenging relief granted to him in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise tax scam. The ED mentioned its plea before a bench of justices Sudhir Kumar Jain and Ravinder Dudeja.

“The dictatorship has gone beyond geographical boundaries. We are yet to get high court order. We hope court will deliver justice” said country.
ED has now filed its appeal against an Rouse Avenue Court decision dated 20th June 2024 which granted bail to Kejriwal. Trial judge held that there is no direct evidence on proceeds of crime for Kejriwal in his orders of bail.
Kejriwal was arrest by the ED on March 21 for allegedly being involve in money laundering cases involving wrongdoings associated with Delhi’s excise policy for 2021-22 which eventually stand cancelled. SC had allowed him interim bail till May 10 due to Lok Sabha elections after proposing him surrendering himself on June 2. Political vendetta argument
