Aamir Khan recently discussed the essence of Sitaare Zameen Par in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India. He described it as a “beautiful story” that changed the emotional tone of the previous film. While “Taare Zameen Par” is known for its poignant narrative, which often left viewers in tears, Khan explains that the new film takes a different approach: “‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ makes you laugh; it makes you laugh; It’s a humorous movie.”
Both films share a common theme of exploring the lives of individuals with varying abilities and challenges. However, the humorous angle of the sequel sets it apart. Khan elaborates, “In many ways, I feel it is far ahead of ‘Taare Zameen Par’ because in ‘Taare Zameen Par’, Ishaan, the person who faced challenges in the film, was helped by my character. ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ ‘, were ten people with challenges; they helped me, who was considered a normal person.
“Taare Zameen Par” was not only a commercial success but also received critical acclaim and won three awards national film award for its sensitive depiction of the educational challenges children face. The success of “Taare Zameen Par” has set high expectations for its sequel.
Sitaare Zameen Par announced in October 2023, directed by: RS Prasannaand starring Aamir Khan and Darsheel Safary Genelia Deshmukh Play the lead role. The film is inspired by the 2018 Spanish film “The Champions” and is expected to be released on December 25, 2024.
