One day, Yuvraj Singh scored 36 runs in a single T20I match. It was done when he hit six sixes on Stuart Broad from England during the 2007 T20 World Cup Samoa’s wicketkeeper batsman Darius Visser had Tuesday.

This feat was surpassed in 2007 when he smashed six sixes off England’s Stuart Broad during the T-20 world cup. Darius Visser, Samoawicketkeeper batsman was also another cricketer who broke this record last Tuesday.

In a match played at the Apia Gardens, Oval 2, Samoa before ICC Men’s T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific Qualifiers A between Vanuatu and Samoa, Visser managed an impressive knock of 39 runs of Nipiko which included three no-balls as well as five other boundaries.

Lastly, overflyin Kieron Pollard (2021) Nicholas Pooran (2024), Dipendra Singh Airee (2024) are some recent players that managed to score 36 runs but still their performance has been eclipsed by Darius Visser.

Visser slammed down three back-to-back sixes from the first three balls to achieve this milestone . He went on with it further driving four more fours off the fourth legal delivery thus taking Samoa to exactly hundred after the completion of twenty overs.

The young man remained unyielding despite Nipiko’s attempt to limit him by giving him a penalty kick on his fifth delivery. This led to another hat-trick as he scored six more runs having been given a no-ball for the third time in his career.

In conclusion Darius Visser finished with another highest score thereby becoming first player from Samoa that reached triple figures in international cricket history.

His magnificent innings included fourteen huge sixers but falls just four short of most maximum hits by one individual batsman during men t20I game.

He scored 132 runs in just 62 deliveries completely altering the outcome of the game and guiding Samoa to their second win of the tournament. The victory revived hopes for the 2026 T20 World Cup qualifiers that are coming up.
