The IOA has approached the FHC of IOC to discuss their interest in hosting the 2036 Olympics.
Prime Minister met some Indian athletes and requested those who took part in previous Olympic Games (OGs) To speak about their experiences and suggestions.
“India is getting ready to host Olympics in 2036,” she said. “In this regard, it is very important that we take views of players who have participated in any Olympiads earlier. You must have observed and experienced a lot. We want to put it down on paper and let the government know so that we can be prepared well,” he called upon.
“They are my ‘Team 2036’. I would direct Ministry of Sport [to] do a document which will incorporate all valuable input[s] provided by our sportsmen,” she told them.
“You too are an integral part of my team for 2036 which will produce unique Olympics in this world. Hopefully, Sports Ministry will prepare a draft where detailed feedback shall be collected from athletes so that we could plan ahead better” he added road.
“This requires you as sportsmen to also contribute your ideas on how sports can be improved [in] India further. As you go along guiding others who will assume those roles representing this country tomorrow, your comments matter most here therefore; interact with other players through social media or set up meetings across various parts of [the] country.”
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is responsible for deciding on which nation should host OGs. This is done by one dedicated arm inside IOC referred as Future Host Committee (FHC).
Firstly, NOCs, which are interested in hosting the Games, must hold a series of consultations with FHC. These started as ongoing dialogue and eventually ended up with targeted dialogue between finalist NOCs.
The IOC Executive Board votes to decide on the city that will host a particular OG after the completion of this dialogue by FHC.
