Krishnagiri: A woman and her son were killed by a speeding car near Bagur in Krishnagiri district. tamil nadu Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as 60-year-old C Kumarathi and her 40-year-old son C Tirupathi from Nathankottai near Bagur.
They were waiting outside a flower shop in Bagur when a car heading towards Krishnagiri swerved to avoid hitting a motorcycle that suddenly entered the Bagur-Tirupattur national highway.
Bagur police inspector B Valarmathi said: “Both Kumarathi and Tirupati suffered head injuries and died on the spot.”
Three passengers in the car, including 48-year-old K Munusamy from Yelagiri in Tirupattur district, 35-year-old relative S Geethapriya from Hosur and her 3-year-old daughter Sai Darshana, were injured. They were admitted to Krishnagiri Government Medical College and Hospital.
Bagur police registered a case against the driver Munusamy.
