Djokovic boasts of an impressive five wins as compared to one loss to young Italian prodigy Musetti during different meetings that they have played with each other. In their most recent encounter last month at French Open when Djokovic came from behind in grueling five-set battle and showed his resilience.
Also last year at french open musseti pushed djocovick all the way winning the first two sets in round sixteen but an unfortunate injury ruined his chances of causing a major upset when it hampered him during the final set
“Djokovic knows better than me how this ring looks like,” said Musetti “He is a legend around here and done incredible things”. We have played many times and I expect firework between us on court. This is toughest challenge in tennis but i am ambitious person and I enjoy challenges.
During this year’s Wimbledon tournament,Musetti has bee tested again after losing the first set to Fritz who broke serve in game four on Wednesday.
Nevertheless, with his characteristic single-handed backhand shot, he fought back to snatch the second set after securing it through a fierce tiebreak. The Italian took that momentum into the third set and asserted his authority with breaks in games one and five.
Fritz’s resilience was evident in his last match against Alexander Zverev in the round of 16 where he had fallen back to trails of two sets down before finally bouncing back in a fourth set bash, which equalized matters.
However, Musetti was not deterred by this comeback from his opponent as he proved unmovable in the fifth and final stage. Up 5-0, he clinched a hard-fought win that propelled him into the semi-finals.
