NEW DELHI: Indian blog Congress will pay a collective trip to the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Modi and a ministerial meeting scheduled for Sunday night.
According to K.C. Venugopal, “Whether or not this should happen will be decided by the Indian group as a whole.”
In the meantime, Jairam Ramesh, who is one of the senior leaders of Congress, took a thinly-veiled shot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP by saying that only international leaders had been invited to the swearing-in ceremony and the opposition leader had not received any invitation either.
“We have got an invitation where only international leaders can come but our own leaders have not received any. If our leadership from India gets an invitation then we would certainly,” he said.
Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maldives President Mohamed Muizou, Seychelles Vice President Ahmed Afif, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Mauritius Pu Ravinder Kumar Jugnauth; Nepal’s prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’; Bhutan’s prime minister Tshering Togai were invited by India.
Besides attending the oath-taking ceremony in addition they are expected to participate in a dinner thrown by President Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on that evening itself as per information coming from MEA.
At the same time as such committee members unanimously adopted a resolution calling for Rahul Gandhi To become leader of opposition in Lok Sabha
“Our opinion is that Rahul should become LoP because we raised unemployment issues during our election campaign.” Therefore these issues need wider platform through Parliament when it comes to cost rise employment generation women equality & gender justice among others which make Rahul be better placed to lead this movement within Parliament.” Venugopal pointed out.
