Prince Harry has told reasons why he didn’t have his wife meghan markle with him at that time when she came back to the UK recently on an interview by ITV. The Duke of Sussex referred to ongoing security question concerning intense media monitoring related to British tabloids. And said that Meghan would not be going with him on any future visits U.K.
Harry explained his fears for Megan’s life and described how people affected by newspapers could be dangerous. Harry explained.
He emphasized stating thus: “These are things that really worry me, whether it is a knife or acid or whatever it is. That is one of the reasons why I am not bringing my wife back to this country.”
Security Question
It was in December 2023 where Harry uttered; “Britain is my home. Britain is at the heart of my children’s heritage and I want them to feel like they can call it home. As well as America where they actually live right now.” Nevertheless, he admitted that there would be no way without security.
“They pushed me too far”
They were worried about their safety.
This royal family member also talked about how his court battles against certain media companies have done nothing but provoke more potential threats towards him or other members of this family.
“My wife and I got enough attention anyway”.
The recent comments made by Prince Harry are part of emerging contentions between the couple and the British press in general. The duke criticized relentless media scrutiny, which he said heightened Meghan’s security risks.
“They pushed me too far. You were damned if you did and damned if you didn’t,” Harry said about their legal dispute with their publishers called “You deserve to die.”
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey on CBS This Morning aired last month. Prince Harry discussed how battling against tabloids has affected him personally. While being misquoted by several sources regarding what was actually said during another chat show appearance earlier this year. Wherein he apparently declared; “But it’s a tough one, because anything I say about my family will come under so much media scrutiny.“
“Media Harassment”
This decision made by the duke is representative of how the Sussexes have been harassed by the press since they moved to America in 2020.
Meghan’s most recent visit to England came when she attended the queen’s funeral of Elizabeth II last year, which was one of those rare times after leaving.
The duke has revealed that his feud with the royal family is closely linked to his battle with the media. He admits that discussing his family often results in media abuse. “But it’s a difficult question to answer because anything I say about my family will result in a lot of abuse in the media,” he added.
This follows Harry’s comments previously positing British as an important legacy for his children.
Harry remembers Queen Elizabeth II’s support
Also, they spoke of their journey through life and how influential the scrutiny by different journalists had been on them.
There were difficulties, however, Harry still spoke highly about the assistance he received from his grandmother who died late last year and happened to be Queen Elizabeth II. “We have had many chats since she died; she knew how important this was to me. She was very concerned about “be sure you don’t give up!” “Yes,” he said.
