The Chief Minister of Kerala is Pinarayi Vijayan. Now Provision for Rest was sanctioned barely a week ago by the IPS officer Sujith Dasin Das and the left-side MLA P V Anwar. Das who is also the Police Chief officer in Pathanamthitta district has been in charge of taking his conversations with Anwar to the public which compromises the image of the state police and raises eyebrows as to the problem in the police itself.
Such accusations were used as the basis for Mr. Das’s earlier suspension. His removal comes after his recent actions, which captured wide media attention. Geetha begum. Her report identified grave lapses on Das’s part, thus leading the chief minister to take precautions at the earliest possible time.
This suspension takes place when criticism against MLA PV Anvar is on the increase, as he has often charged Das with illegal operations while Das was the Malappuram district police chief. Anwar made charges that Das and the police department of Malappuram were involved in plastering over gold smuggling campsite evidence which even he had dredged up following a meeting with the Chief Minister early this week.
Das and Deputy Commissioner of Police domestic (ADGP) Mr. Ajith Kumar are under investigation along with other persons by the team headed by state police chief Sheikh Darvesh Sahib.
