Rohit Sharma, Captain of Team India says that the Men in Blue will focus on their team work and training ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8s.
India beat Ireland, Pakistan and U.S.A to get through to the Super Eights stage at the T20 World Cup.
The final group match involving team India against Canada was not play after continuous rains made it impossible for any play on Saturday at Broward County Stadium.
On Tuesday, The Indian cricket board (BCCI) shared a link to one of its videos where Rohit speaks about his teams planning for the Super Eights.
“There is a lot of desire within the group to go out there and do something special. You know that’s a good way to start our second stage of the tournament. Clearly shows that everybody wants to make a difference and obviously we take our skills sets quite seriously. There is something to achieve in every skill set that you do,” Rohit said.
During this period, India will face off with Afghanistan on June 20th in Barbados, Bangladesh on June 22nd in Antigua and Australia on June 24th in St Lucia during their stay in Super Eights.
“Once we play our first game, then we are playing two games back-to-back in three or four days. It’s going to be a little hectic but again all of us are use to all these things. We travel quite a bit; we play quite a bit so would never be an excuse for anyone. We will look forward more into our skills as well as what needs us as players other than all these things here. Every session then really becomes very important and one should take full advantage,” he added.
Ahead of their game with Afghanistan, Indian team members attended practice sessions at Barbados nets yesterday .
On playing games at Barbados, Rohit said, ‘We have seen a lot of games here, we have played a lot of games here so everyone understands what one needs to do to get the result in our favour. Everyone is looking forward and quite excited as well at the same time.”
