New Delhi: Despite losing most of the games intense pulsed light matches, Kolkata Knight Riders Skipper says (KKR) continue to perform well when it matters most Shreyas Iyer Sunday’s victory moves them to the top of the table.
On the right Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Iyer lost his eighth toss in 11 games but that did not stop KKR’s performance. KKR posted a total of 235 for six after being bowled by LSG.
Their batting prowess was complemented by a strong bowling performance as they restricted the hosts to just 137 runs, ensuring another crucial win in their journey to the playoffs.
Iyer said in his post-match speech in Lucknow: “In the last six games, there was havoc in the dressing room, teammates came in and asked what happened, we were losing games but we were winning games and that’s when is the most important.
“We got off to a good start on the power play. The combination of left-handers and right-handers gave opponents a hard time. It’s all about freedom, going out and expressing yourself.
“We all want to go out there and stay positive no matter what the situation is, and sometimes that doesn’t work and sometimes it does.”

Captain KL Rahul insisted that LSG need to win the remaining three games to fight for a play-off spot and a do-or-die situation will help his team.
“When we face a batsman like Sunil and any strong batsman, we make some mistakes. That intimidation puts pressure on our pitchers. Once we get back to the dressing room, it’s Talk – move on from this game and see where we went wrong and try to get better.
“This is our last home game so we have the next three games away. It’s clear to us that if you want to be in the top four you have to win all your games. That will give us a little bit of freedom to go Outside, a little bit of fearlessness, a little bit of courage to accept the game,” Rahul said.
