However, there was no immediate information on the extent of damage to the base or the scale of Ukrainian attacks in the area, which is hundreds of kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
Ukraine had no immediate comment on the incident. Russia and Ukraine both deny targeting civilians in military operations and say their attacks are aimed at destroying infrastructure critical to their wars.
