One flight from American Airways to Phoenix was involved in one of the most dangerous accidents in the US history when its tire blew up on the runway just before takeoff Florida.
Before 8am, Taxiing Flight 590 at Tampa International Airport on that day is shown in a viral video clip.
The right tire burst suddenly and threw up sparks and smoke as it went off. An ambulance rushed to the plane after it stopped.
According to American Airlines spokesperson Alfredo Garduno, none of the 174 passengers and six crew members aboard were injured during their safe exit from the jetliner that was later directed to the terminal. The company arranged for passengers to be transferred onto alternative flights, such that this occurrence did not disrupt other air travel activities at Florida airport.
In a statement, American Airlines owned up that Flight 590 “had a mechanical problem on the runway before takeoff.”
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that the pilots ‘reported multiple tire blowouts’ leading them to start an inquiry into what occurred. No injuries have been reported according to authorities with all passengers safely out of the plane and moved via buses to terminals within minutes.
“American Airlines Flight 590 departed Tampa International Airport at approximately 7:50 AM local time today, July 10th, after its crew reported multiple tire blowouts,” commented FAA spokesperson. They said: “Passengers boarded and deplaned onto taxiway buses transporting them to terminals.”
