On Wednesday, congress member of parliament and leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi visited ice cream shops in sringar after dinner at a well-known local restaurant called Larchowk.
They left the Lalit Hotel where they were staying at Gupkar area of the city and went to a restaurant. Adu Si Hotela, is one such restaurant which is famous for its Kashmiri “Wazwan”.
After eating, the group took a walk on the Pratap park nearby just meters away from the iconic building bell towerand enjoyed ice cream from a popular local restaurant.
The high profile visit to the bustling Residential Road area, which is also Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital commercial hub came as a surprise. The security personnel ensured their safety throughout their visit by guarding them around or near hotel on Jhelum river side.
Rahul Gandhi arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday on a two-day visit to assess the party’s preparations for the upcoming Union Territory Assembly elections.
During his stay, he also explored possibilities with National Conference (NC) about potential alliances. Rahul will attend important meetings related to assembly elections which are three-phases and scheduled to start on September 18th together with Congress president Mallikarjun Haq.
