Khirpada village in Taluka Surgana, Maharashtra is where some residents of Nashik swim across the river during heavy rainfall to obtain basic necessities.
Almost all parts of the region are affected by monsoon. No bridges being available, this forced villagers to take a life threatening boat trip across the river.
From 2nd August to 4th August, there is an official weather warning for Nashik district as per IMD (Indian Meteorological Department).
However, Saturday has been warned with an orange alert implying that the weather could deteriorate further.
On Thursday Nashik district should expect a moderate amount of rainfall. There have been intermittent showers in the city.
For June and July Nasik district received 404 mm rain which accounted for about 83% of average rainfall which stands at around 483 mm for these months.
