Mohammed Siraj, the Indian bowler brilliant fielding display in an overwhelming 7-wicket win over USA during their ICC T20 World Cup Group A match on Wednesday. Following the game which was held at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, Siraj was given the ‘Fielder of the Match’ award by none other than Indian cricketing icon Yuvraj Singh, who is also famous for his exceptional fielding skills.
Siraj’s influence on the game could not be denied. He proved his speed and athleticism when he took two outstanding catches to dismiss Aaron Jones and Nitish Kumar.
Apart from this, his presence of mind and quick reflexes led to Jasdeep Singh being run out off the final ball of USA’s innings. One that stood out though was a sublime catch where he jumped backwards at deep mid-wicket to remove Nitish Kumar as a hallmark of his brilliant display in the field.

T Dilip, India’s fielding coach applauded team’s consistent efforts in terms of catching over their last matches. “I always believe our team’s consistency is what separates from good to great. And I think that was a perfect example. We showcased that very well today. Well done in first three games,” Dilip said as per ANI quotes.
Dilip also acknowledged that mistakes do happen but lauded them for bouncing back even stronger as one entity constantly striving to be better version of themselves.
“It is very, very important to acknowledge small errors is natural. And what makes us so special is we come back and keep pushing ourselves to the best. And that’s what we can see in the last two games that even if we had a couple of errors, we came back very strongly as a unit,” he added.
Describing Yuvraj Singh as he called him to award the ‘Fielder of the Match’ medal, Dilip said that he was “epitome of fielding excellence”.
“When he’s on the field, it’s not just about him taking those catches or making those run outs but it’s an attitude. And everytime he steps in there, it’s an attitude that wants to make a difference” noted Yuvraj during his brief speech.
