Last week, as all of us were celebrating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinching their third Indian Premier League title, the world’s tallest building; Burj Khalifa in Dubai was draped with purple and this became viral after being shared on many social media platforms. KKR wins against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 26th, IPL final. So, cricket fans from around the world celebrated this achievement by lighting up a popular building among their loved ones that also happens to be in Dubai and it is still there again to be found illuminated in purple. Meanwhile, the team captioned a post about this moment that simply reads, “The view from up here… PURPLE.”.
Different pictures displayed on the legendary structure included Kolkata Knight Riders’ team and Shah Rukh Khan along with an inscribed message saying: “Congratulations KKR. Congratulations SRK.”
Over time however, without calling into question any other issues surrounding any pertinent aspect of this topic or making suggestions about its implications for any number of factors beyond what has been discussed here so far then it could just suffice to mention that KKR had won these two previous trophies under Gautam Gambhir’s captaincy.
However coincidentally, Gambhir who is now numbered as one among the mentors of the KKR squad might end up taking over from Rahul Dravid as India’s men cricket coach since his tenure comes to an end right after T20 World Cup which will be held in June.
