On the last day of competition, Vivaan won the silver medal in the flying saucer event, while Paris Olympian Naruka won the bronze medal in the skeet event. India’s medal tally reached four (two silver, two bronze) with Sonam Maskar winning silver in 10m air rifle and Akhil Sheoran winning in the 10m air rifle. Finished third in the men’s rifle event on one day and two on day two.
Vivaan had been in fourth position midway through, but after his third elimination in the six-man final, he switched gears and climbed to second. He shot a total of 44 shots, three shots behind eventual gold medalist and Paris silver medalist Qi Ying of China.
Tolga Tuncer of Turkiye finished third.
In the skeet final, Asian Games silver medalist Minghua won the bronze medal with a score of 43. Italy’s Tamaro Cassandro won gold with 57 hits, while two-time Olympic champion Gabriele Rossetti, also from Italy, won silver with 56 hits in the 60-stroke event.
India is tied for sixth place in the medal table with four medals, while China dominates with four gold medals and three bronze medals.
The German shooter, who did not win any medals at the Paris Olympics, secured second place with one gold and two silvers, while the French team ranked third with one gold, one silver and one bronze.
