After Arshad Warsi’s comments about the portrayal of Prabhas in Prabhas Kalki AD 2898, many actors have expressed their opinion or shouted down on him. Speaking in a podcast, the Hindi actor claimed “Prabhas is looking like The Joker from the movie Kalki 2898 AD,” and several actors from Telugu industry mentioned that he cannot compare this actor with anything and if he does not like the movie, just do constructive criticism.
Actor vishnu manchu who is also the President of Telugu Film Artists Association, said that he was disturbed by Arshad Warsi’s comments about Prabhas. In an official letter written to the associations media officer Mr. Vishnu stated that these derogatory comments hurt feelings of Telugu film fans.
“In today’s age of social media every word can quickly escalate into a wide ranging debate and as public figures we must be careful about what we say. Words have power they can build bridges or create rifts but unfortunately , his remarks have resulted in unnecessary negativity amongst cine lovers and our fraternity.” We kindly request you to advise Mr.Warsi against making such statements against other artists in future. Our respect for each fellow must not depend on which region they come from.’ Vishnu wrote in his letter.
actor Sudhir Babu, Sidhu Jonaragada and Nani also responded to the controversial remarks. Actor Nani said in statement that Arshad Warsi was blowing up a non-issue while two more actors disclosed that director Nag Arvin had written Prabhas’ role for his film’s story characterizing it as one which fans loved hence making it India’s fourth highest grossing film with Rs 1,200 crore box office collection.
