NEW DELHI: Ex Indian batsman Mohammad Kaif has uttered his admiration for Virat Kohli, by saying that as far as he is concerned the opening batter of Royal Challengers Bengaluru is in a state where no bowling match ups can disturb him. In IPL 2024, Kohli has shown an exceptional form and determination.
On this coming Saturday, RCB will be playing against Chennai Super Kings in their last league match in Bengaluru. If they win with a good margin, the home team will overtake their opponents on net run rate and qualify for the final playoffs.
Kaif speaking to Star Sports said Kohli’s form and state of mind at present resembles that of a monk who is deep in meditation and unaware of what goes on around him.”When a hermit goes to the Himalayas, he is in a different zone when he is meditating. Nothing distracts him. Whether there is a loud noise, someone shouts or cries, it doesn’t make a difference. Virat Kohli has reached that zone,” Kaif said.
“He does not see scorecards but just finds himself,” His eyes are focused on one thing alone. It’s all about how hard he want to fight regardless of who among the bowlers be it fast or spinners stands before him . Mukewa ajeya taurwa tino tarisa mubowora mune machan’ombe amuna angu awedzera.” This was said by the other former men’s cricketer Kaif.
Kohli scored 661 runs from 13 matches with an impressive strike rate 155.16 which makes him top run getter so far in IPL 2024 according to Kaif who believes that Kohli wants to take RCB towards victory only.
In addition to this observation, “He just came there to dominate.”
“From his second game against Punjab…”
Therefore, “As RCB get ready for their must win match against CSK, Kohli’s form and intensity will be a deciding factor in whether or not they make the playoffs.”
