According to a report in Pinkvilla, Vetrimaaran revealed that the streaming version of Viduthalai Part 2 will have a longer runtime. Filmmaker says, “Viduthalai Part 2 Expanded version (an extra hour) will be released on OTT. In the U.S., we had a last-minute edit to the film, so we had an extra eight minutes. The footage itself for Parts 1 and 2 totals about 8 hours.
He explained that the total length of the two parts of the film is about eight hours, providing fans with more content to enjoy. Although official OTT release The date has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be ZEE5 Around the second or third week of January 2025.
“Viduthalai Part 2” tells the story of Perumal Vaathiyar, played by Vijay Sethupathi, who is captured by the police. His past is revealed, showing his transformation from a teacher to the leader of a people’s movement influenced by communist ideology.

Viduthalai was originally intended as one film, but was split into two parts to maintain the integrity of the narrative. Both parts were filmed continuously, with filming for the first part ending in November 2022 and being released on March 31, 2023.
The film continues to perform well at the box office and has grossed more than 228 million rupees in its opening weekend.
