New Delhi: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vashno Met with chief artificial intelligence scientist on Saturday YuanYann LeCun discusses opportunities in artificial intelligence.
The minister posted on social media X that India Artificial Intelligence Mission Providing help to promote strong collaboration between industry, government and academia.
“Meet with Meta’s @ylecun (Yann LeCun) to discuss Bharat’s AI potential. Our AI mission is being advanced through strong collaborations between industry, government and academia: the GenAI CoE & Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur and Yuan. Yuva Artificial Intelligence skilled Asia Infocomm Technology Exhibition and Meta to train 1,00,000 LLM students,” Vaishanw posted on X.
On October 25, IndiaAI and Meta announced the establishment of a center generative artificial intelligenceSrijan launched the ‘YuvAi Skills and Capacity Building Programme’ at IIT Jodhpur in partnership with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to drive the development of open source artificial intelligence (AI) in India.
The partnership will promote the development of indigenous AI applications, drive AI skill development and enhance research capabilities, with the aim of ensuring India’s AI mission of technological sovereignty and vision of building AI solutions tailored for India Make a contribution.
As part of this collaboration, Meta will support the establishment of the Srijan Center for Generative Artificial Intelligence (“GenAI CoE”) at IIT Jodhpur, according to details shared by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
The GenAI CoE aims to advance research and development in artificial intelligence while promoting the development of responsible and ethical artificial intelligence technologies in India. It will support and enhance open scientific innovation across the entire field of artificial intelligence technology.
Through education, capacity building, and policy advice, the center will provide the next generation of researchers, students, and practitioners with the knowledge and tools they need to responsibly develop and deploy GenAI technologies.
Meta has also launched the “YuvAi Skills and Capacity Building Initiative” in collaboration with MeitY and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The program aims to close the country’s AI talent gap by empowering 100,000 students and young developers aged 18-30 to use open-source large language models (LLMs) to tackle real-world challenges.
It aims to develop capabilities in generative AI skills using an open-source LL.M., while promoting AI innovation in key areas. Over the next three years, the program will train one hundred thousand youth, developers and entrepreneurs to make significant contributions to India’s AI ecosystem in key areas such as healthcare, education, agriculture, smart cities and financial inclusion.
This will include the establishment of a Gen AI resource center containing courses, case studies and open source materials; an LLM course designed by Meta for young developers; and master training activation workshops to introduce participants to basic artificial intelligence concepts. The program also features the Unleash LLM Hackathon, where students will submit artificial intelligence solutions to solve real-world problems, with top ideas receiving mentorship, seed funding and marketing support. In addition, the AI Innovation Accelerator will identify and support 10 student-led startups experimenting with open source AI models, providing incubation and visibility.
