New Delhi: International Cricket Council (ICC) imposes penalty on Indian pacers Mohammed Siraj and Australian batter Travis Hyde This follows their clash in the second Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Siraj was fined 20% of his match fee for using foul language and gestures, while Hyde was also punished. Both players were deducted one point.
“Siraj was found guilty of breaching Rule 2.5 of the Competition Rules and fined 20% of the match fee. ICC Code of Conduct Targeting players and player support staff, it involves “the use of language, actions or gestures that are disparaging or likely to provoke an aggressive reaction when a batsman is out”.

Hyde was also sanctioned for breaching Article 2.13 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “abuse of players, player support personnel, referees or match referees during international matches,” an ICC press release said .
Siraj and Head each had one point deducted from their disciplinary records, their first offenses in the past 24 months.
Both players admitted their crimes and accepted the penalties imposed by the match referee Ranjan Madugal.

The incident occurred when Travis Head scored a shocking 140 and was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj, who pointed to the dressing room to see off the Australian batsman .
