Shakti Veer was paralyzed by a stroke two years ago, affecting his mobility and speech. “His wife passed away several years ago due to poor health,” police said.
Manesar fire officer Lalit Kumar said the fire was suspected to have started from the set-top box and then spread to the LED TV.
“The set-top box and TV were close to the bed and the victim was unable to raise alarm or move due to paralysis. Locals mostly doused the flames and our team doused the fire completely,” Lalit said.
Based on Ajay’s statement, the police conducted investigation proceedings under BNS Section 194 and handed over the body to the family on Friday after autopsy.
