Paralyzed patient dies in house fire in Gurgaon's Jatauli village

Gurgaon: A 58-year-old paralyzed patient was burnt alive in a fire that broke out at his home in Jatauli village of Haili Mandi on Thursday afternoon. The victim was home alone at the time of the accident. electrical short circuit.
The victim, Shakti Veer, 58, lived with her two sons in a single-storey house in Jatauli village.
According to Hailey Mandi SI Satya Prakash, Shakti Veer’s eldest son works as a worker in a warehouse in Pataudi, while the younger son Ajay stays at home to take care of Shakti Veer. The fire incident took place around 1 pm on Thursday due to an electrical short circuit when Shakti Veer’s sons were not at home.
“Neighbors only noticed the fire after seeing heavy smoke coming from the house. They opened the door and found that the victim’s crib had been engulfed in flames. The LED TV next to the bed also exploded in the fire. We suspect that the cause of the fire may be It was caused by fire.
Locals carried water in buckets to the room and put out the fire before fire engines arrived at the scene. The victim suffered burns to more than 80% of his body and was rushed to a local civil hospital.
“We received an alert at 2 pm. The victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. Ajay had gone out to buy groceries when the incident occurred. When he returned home, his father suffered burn injuries in the fire,” the SI said.
Shakti Veer was paralyzed by a stroke two years ago, affecting his mobility and speech. “His wife passed away several years ago due to poor health,” police said.
Manesar fire officer Lalit Kumar said the fire was suspected to have started from the set-top box and then spread to the LED TV.
“The set-top box and TV were close to the bed and the victim was unable to raise alarm or move due to paralysis. Locals mostly doused the flames and our team doused the fire completely,” Lalit said.
Based on Ajay’s statement, the police conducted investigation proceedings under BNS Section 194 and handed over the body to the family on Friday after autopsy.
