Tirupati: TTD Chairman Sri BR Naidu and EO Sri J Syamala Rao started issuing tokens to locals at Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati on Monday.
Addressing the media on the occasion, TTD Board Chairman thanked Chief Minister AP Sri N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Sri Pawan Kalyan for reviving darshan for the locals over the past few years.
He said that based on their instructions, the TTD board in its first board meeting held on November 18 decided to provide Srivari Darshan Open to locals on the first Tuesday of every month.
Later, the TTD EO said that seven counters have been set up at Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati and three counters at Balaji Nagar Community Hall in Tirumala for the use of locals.
As of now, 2,500 tokens will be issued in Tirupati and 500 tokens in Tirumala. The tokens should be redeemed to residents of Tirupati City, Tirupati Rural, Chandragiri, Renigunta, Tirumala using original Aadhaar cards.
Henceforth, darshan tokens will be issued at two centers in Tirupati and Tirumala on the first Sunday of every month.
He also expressed his appreciation for the careful arrangements made by relevant TTD officials within the stipulated time.

TTD has arranged queues and basic facilities for issuing tokens so that believers can easily obtain tokens.
In this program, Tirupati MLA Sri A. Srinivasulu, Chandragiri MLA Sri Pulivarthi Nani were also present.
These include TTD Board Member Dr.M.Santharam, TTD Additional EO Sri Venkaiah Chowdary, CVSO Sri Sridhar, Deputy EO Sri. Lokanadham, TTD officials participated in the meeting.
