Jaipur: Residents of the city woke up to bomb scares on Monday, with nearly 68 schools receiving a threatening email. News of the threatening emails spread panic among residents on a day when the city marked the 16th anniversary of the 2018 serial bomb blasts.
Just a day ago, Jaipur International Airport also received a threatening email. Sunday’s threat was the fifth the airport has received in five months. To everyone’s relief, a closer search of the school revealed that the threat was a hoax, just like the threats against the airport.
School authorities were busy calling police hotlines on Monday morning after receiving threatening emails. The email mentioned, “There are explosives in the school.” After the news spread, panicked parents rushed to the school to pick up their children. Until around 12 noon, schools in different parts of the city saw parents reaching out to bring their children back to safety.
Police teams, Rapid Action Force and military experts conducted thorough search operations at the school throughout the day. The school administration remains calm in this situation and ensures timely updates are sent to parents. The school provides transportation services to get all students home as early as possible. Students who did not use school transportation were taken home by their families. Teachers and other school staff left the school only after a thorough evacuation and search had been completed.
