The third time saw Mollywood superstar Mohanlal re-elected as the president of Malayalam Film Actors Guild (AMMA). This comes after a major shakeup in the leadership of the association with Idavella Babu, who had been serving as the secretary general for a long time is said to have resigned.
Competition for other key posts at AMMA hotting up. Jagadish, Jayan Cherthala and Manju Pillai are vying to be elected as vice presidents.

There were earlier reports that Mohanlal was also considering resigning as president. However, he decided to continue third semester.
On his professional front, Mohanlal has an impressive line-up of projects ahead of him. He will next be seen in “L360,” by Tharun Moorthy, “L2: Empuraan” by Prithviraj Sukumaran and Barroz which is a fantasy film.
Mohanlal’s latest outing Malaikottai Vaaliban directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery received mixed response from both critics and audience alike. Despite this lukewarm response, the audience appreciated Mohanal’s performance in the title role of the movie.
