Bumrah has been paid INR 180 million as the first retained player.

Bumrah said he is ready to reward himself for the wealth of experience he has gained during his IPL journey, something he has always expected from the legend since he first entered the IPL as a teenager.
“When I came, all the legends were here and I used to ask a lot of questions. So now, the roles are slowly changing and a lot of young people are coming into our team and they are eight or nine years younger than us so I always Was happy to help because when I started I got a lot of help… always trying my best to contribute whenever I could,” he added.
Bumrah, who finished last in the last edition of the IPL, said MI was keen to turn things around and knew how to do so having won the title five times in the past.
“We’ve had success in the past, we know how to win championships. Look at yourself, correct your mistakes and try to take a positive approach. That’s always worked for us and I think that’s what we should be doing. “We’re going to focus on that and hopefully through that. Positive progress and we will achieve good results,” he added.
