NASA bill nelson issued a statement on Sunday regarding the death of the former president. jimmy carter who died on Sunday. Nelson praised his public service and highlighted the message he delivered on board Voyager 1 spacecraft.
Nelson said Carter dedicated his life to improving the world and set an example of positive impact. He noted Carter’s work helping those in need, protecting the environment and advocating for civil and human rights.
Voyager 1, the farthest man-made object from Earth, carried a message from Carter: “If such a civilization intercepts Voyager and is able to understand the contents of these records, our message is: This is from The gift of a small world far away, a symbol of our voices, our science, our images, our music, our thoughts and our emotions that we are trying to survive so that we can live in your time, we hope One day, after solving the problems we face, join a galactic community.
Nelson says Carter understood the power of unity space exploration. He expressed NASA’s condolences to the Carter family.
