AMBERNATH: Ambernath police have arrested a 28-year-old teacher for allegedly physically abusing three minor male students at a school in Ambernath.
Police said the incident occurred between June and August. However, after the incident came to light, three students aged between 9 and 15 did not go to school for several days in a row. Their parents asked them and the truth of the incident came to light.
The parents later shared the details with an NGO, which contacted local Ambernath police on Friday to inform them of the incident.
The police immediately took the issue seriously, recorded the victim’s statement and later arrested the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) after registering an FIR.
The accused was produced in court on Saturday and the court remanded him in police custody till December 10.
