India’s super eight scheme will start against Afghanistan on Thursday at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. In their last game against Canada, they had a major interruption when it was abandoned because of wetness in the outfield.
The race is scheduled to commence at 10:30 am local time and it is expected that there would be cloudiness and rain with chances of rain as low as 3%.
Their previous match took place just over a week ago on June 12th when they won by seven runs against the co-hosts United States. India went through unbeaten during the group stages thus comfortably qualifying for the Super Eights which consists of two groups each consisting four teams.
Todays weather forecast
According to weather forecasts, Bridgetown could see clouds and wet conditions throughout most of today’s day. Game-time temperatures are expected to range from 27 degrees Celsius (80 degrees Fahrenheit) to 32 degrees Celsius (93 degrees Fahrenheit). Rain chances start off at zero percent around 10:30 am local time but increase slightly up-to seven percent towards the end of game. This bodes well for both sides and supporters all over who want continuous uninterrupted cricket action.
“Afghanistan is a very dangerous team”
Indian team coach Rahul Dravid has warned his side not to take Afghanistan lightly in their opening match of the T20 World Cup Super Eights. He particularly emphasized that T20s have made Afghanistan even more threatening.
“ We know Afghanistan are a very dangerous team in this format of the game,” confessed Dravid during Wednesday’s press conference ahead of match “Their performance in this World Cup has proven that. They may not have much international experience in other formats of game. But many of their players do play in many T20 leagues and are actually better than some players need more.”
As cricket fans around the world look forward to today’s games between these two nations; we shall all be worried about rain and showers which might affect the ongoing play at Kensington Oval.
