New Delhi: Supreme Court Delhi CM granted bail on Monday Arvind Kejriwalclose assistant Bibhav Kumar exist Swati Maliwal Assault case.
The Supreme Court noted that Kumar has been detained for 100 days and a charge sheet has been filed in the case.
The court also directed that Bibhav Kumar shall not be reinstated as personal assistant or hold any official position in the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Supreme Court has said that Bibhav Kumar will not be allowed to enter the home of the Delhi Chief Minister until all witnesses are examined.
Earlier, the Delhi Tis Hazari court had extended Bibhav Kumar’s judicial custody till September 13.
On July 16, Delhi Police submitted a 500-page charge sheet against Bibhav Kumar in connection with the attack. The chargesheet has been submitted to Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Goyal.
Swati Maliwal alleged that Bibhav attacked her on May 13 when she went to meet him at the Delhi CM’s residence.
According to Maliwal’s complaint, the final report was filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of crime), Section 308 (Attempt to commit manslaughter), Section 341 (Undue restraint), Sections 354 (Assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her dignity), 354 B (Assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to strip her of her clothes), 506 (Criminal intimidation) and 509 (Infuriating a woman’s dignity) Causing insult) women by using any words, gestures or objects with the intention of doing the same).
The authorities also obtained a DVR from Kerjriwal’s residence and confiscated several devices, including two mobile phones belonging to Bibhav. While in police custody, Bibhav was sent to Mumbai twice to retrieve data allegedly deleted from his mobile device.
Kumar’s plea had been rejected by the trial court and the high court until the Supreme Court gave relief on Monday.
