There has been a change at the top in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings with respect to the recent update, where Suryakumar Yadav of India dropped from his number one position.
Suryakumar Yadav who had been holding as the best player in T20 since December 2023 and was ranked first in previous times has fallen after an outstanding performance by Australia’s Travis Head during the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Head gained it after several good displays which included India’s 76 runs that were wonderful even though they lost and went home on Monday.
This feat and others have enabled him to move up four slots to occupy first place thereby dropping Suryakumar Yadav down the order while Salt, Azam, and Rizwan all fell making up the ‘top five’.
Amongst batsmen, Johnson Charles of West Indies entered into top ten. Similarly, Afghanistan’s Gurbaz has risen by five rungs but finds himself still outside of that group.
The All-rounders Rankings have seen Marcus Stoinis from Australia losing his number one position to be moved down fourth. The current table shows Wanindu Hasaranga from Sri Lanka reclaiming her position as number one while Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan and Hardik Pandya from India occupy second and third places respectively.
Moreover, Adil Rashid of England still leads among bowlers as well as notable events including Rashid Khan from Afghanistan ascending to two after he did very well in terms of performances at T20 World Cup.
Additionally, three spots for Josh Hazlewood meant that he is now placed at fourth. Significant bowling ranking improvements comprise Kuldeep Yadav (11th spot) who came up twenty steps forward, Jasprit Bumrah (24th) rose forty-four slots higher whereas Jofra Archer (38th) climbed nineteen positions through this list.
