Some farm leaders complicate matters with 'irresponsible remarks': SC

New Delhi: In a somber note amid the ongoing farmers’ protests, the Supreme Court on Thursday said officials and some farmer leaders were “complicating the situation by making irresponsible remarks”.
The Supreme Court also arrested Punjab officials while noting that they had “created a wrong impression in the media” that “attempts were being made” to break the fast of farmer leaders. Jagjit Singh DhalewalHe had been fasting since November 26 until his death.
The court also issued a notice on January 6 requiring compliance with the December 20 directive government of punjab Medical assistance was provided and Dhalewal was hospitalized. The Supreme Court asked the Punjab Chief Secretary to submit a compliance affidavit by Monday.
The Supreme Court further clarified that it never intended to break Dhalewal’s protest but was only concerned about his health.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday gave the Punjab government three days to implement its directive to hospitalize Dhalewal but did not consider the state’s attempt to involve the Center to break the impasse.
