Bratislava: Peter Pellegrini has been elected President of Slovakia. This was after the Prime Minister, Robert Fico, was assassinated and the European Parliament elections allocated for early June.
“I am calling upon all political parties in Slovakia to suspend or cut down their campaigns temporarily,” said Pellegrini in a statement stressing that it would be inappropriate for his country to engage more in conflicts.
