FX series general tops the list with four prestigious awards, including the coveted Project of the Year award. The Television series set in feudal Japan also won best drama and Best New Show. Anna Sawai’s Mariko Toda had been singled out for her personal dramatic achievements.
It was the first live event since 2019 and celebrated a variety of television achievements. Outstanding Comedy Series winner Gene Smart for “Maximus” and Individual Achievement in Comedy. In 2021, he repeated his triumph in comedy category.
Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer,” on the other hand, took home an award for Outstanding Achievement in a Miniseries, Movie or Special while “Doctor Who” was awarded under Family Programming. “Bluey” is a beloved children’s series on Disney+, recognized for its outstanding achievements in children’s programming. The reality show award went to “Traitors,” while ID’s “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Children’s Television” received recognition for excellence in journalism and information.
The ceremony also paid tribute to Andre Brauger, who was posthumously awarded the Career Achievement Award; Twin Peaks received the Heritage Award because it left a lasting impression on television.
Hosted by Wendi McLendon-Covey this year, it showcased diversity and excellence across all genres and platforms in television programming. It is already a strong contender at upcoming Emmy Awards due to Shogun’s multiple wins ahead of schedule where it is expected to win many awards.
